Age Differences between Casts

Requested by fan Frederick, in this post I will note the age differences between the Power Rangers in each cast. Most actors are between the ages of 18 and 28, some have been in their thirties. And the original cast are entering their forties.

When MMPR was shot in 1993, Amy Jo Johnson (Kim) was 22; Austin St. John (Jason) was 17; Thuy Trang (Trini) was 19; Walter Jones (Zack) was 22; and David Yost (Billy) was the eldest at 24. When Jason David Frank (Tommy) joined the cast, he was 20. David Yost had a 7 year difference from Austin St. John, the youngest. Paul Schrier was 23, he is a year younger than David. Jason Narvy was 19, 2 years older than Austin.

In season 2 when Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam) joined the cast, he was 18; Steve Cardenas (Rocky) was 20; and Karan Ashley (Aisha) was 19. David (25) and Johnny had a six year age difference. Amy Jo was 24; David was 25 and Jason was 21. By Season 3, Jason was 22; David was 26; Steve was 21; Johnny was 19 and Karan was 20 and Catherine Sutherland (Kat) was 21 when she joined the cast. Steve is 5 months older than Catherine.

Aquitar (Alien) Rangers: Karim Prince (Cestro) was born in 1974 and was 21 in 1995. Alan Palmer (Corcus) looks to be in his 40's now, so I suppose he was in his late 20's during this time. Same goes for David Bacon (Aurico). I am not sure about Rajia Baroudi (Delphine) or Tideus' actor Jim Gray.

By Zeo, Jason was 22, David was 27, Steve was 22, Johnny was 20, Catherine was 21 and Nakia Burrise (Tanya) was 21. David Yost has a six year difference with Nakia. When Austin St. John (Jason) was added, he was 21. Catherine is 11 months older than Austin. I don't know how old the triplets that played Trey are.

 Blake Foster (Justin) was 11, he was born in 1985 and he is now 26. Jason was 22 and later 23, Jason is about 12 years older than Blake. Johnny is 9 years older and Catherine and Nakia are about 11 years older. Hilary Shepard Turner (Divatox) was born in 1961, at the time she was 35, she was 12 years older than Jason David Frank and 24 years older than Blake. Carol Hoyt (Dimitria/Divatox) was 34 at the time. As for the new cast, Patricia Ja Lee (Cassie) was 22; Selwyn Ward (TJ) was 20; Roger Velasco (Carlos) was 20; and Tracy Lynn Cruz (Ashley) was 21. The eldest was Patricia and she is around 10 years older than Blake.

For Space, Christopher Lee (Andros) was 20, Patricia was 23, Selwyn was 21, Roger was 21 and Tracy was 22, Justin Nimmo (Justin) was 24 and Melody Perkins (Astronema) was 24. Justin Nimmo is 4 years older than Christopher. Melody is 8 months older than Justin Nimmo. Jason David Frank is 5 years older than Christopher Lee. Selwyn was a year older than Christopher. Paul Schrier was 28 and Jason Narvy was 24, 2 months younger than Melody.

 

In Lost Galaxy, Archie Kao (Kai) was 29, he is 10 months younger than David Yost. Reggie Rolle (Damon) was 23; Danny Salvin was 26; Cerina Vincent (Maya) was 20; Russell Lawrence (Mike) was 21; Varlie Vernon (Kendrix) was 23; Melody Perkins (Karone) was 25. Archie was the oldest and Cerine was the youngest. Danny is 6 years older Christopher Lee. Amy Miller (Trakeena), who married Reggie Rolle and I can't find her age.

 

In Lightspeed Rescue, Sean Cw Johnson (Carter) was 22; Michael Chaturantabut was 25; Alison Macinnis (Dana) was 20; Keith Robinson (Joel) was 24; Sasha Craig (Kelsey) was 18, Monica Louwerens (Angela) was 26; Ron Rogge (Captain Mitchell)  was 32--a year older than David Yost. Ron was only 12 years older than Dana and Rhett. Rhett Fisher (Ryan) was 20, 2 months younger than Alison.

Jason Faunt (Wes) was 27--five years older than Sean Johnson; Michael Copon (Lucas) was 19; Erin Cahill (Jen) was 21; Deborah Phillips (Katie) was 23; Kevin Kleinberg (Trip) was 18; Dan Southworth (Eric) was 27; Dan is 2 months older than Jason. Edward Albert played Mr. Collins and was 50 at the time, making him 23 years older than Jason Faunt. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 55 due to Lung Cancer. Vernon Wells (Ransik) was around 55 and I don't know how old Kate Sheldon (Nadira) is. So, Kevin was the youngest of the Rangers and Dan was the eldest, with a 9 year difference, more than David Yost and Austin St. John's age differences.

 

Wild Force: Ricardo Medina (Cole) was 25; Alyson Sulivan (Taylor) was 25--4 months older than Ricardo; Phillip Jeanmarie (Max) was 24; Jessica Ray (Alyssa) was 20; Jack Guzman (Danny) was 24; Philip Andrew (Merrick) was 24. Jessica Ray was the youngest and has a 5 year difference from Ricardo and Alyson. Ilia Volok (Master Org) was 37 and I don't know how old Ann Marie Crouch (Shayla) is.

 

Ninja Storm: Pua Magasiva (Shane) was 23; Sally Martin (Tori) was 18; Glenn McMillan (Dustin) was 19; Jason Chan (Cam) was 32---a year younger than Amy Jo Johnson; Jorgito Vargas Jr. (Blake) was 26 and Adam Tuominen (Hunter) was 23; Katrina Devine (Marah) was 23 and Katrina Browne (Kapri) was 28.

 Dino Thunder: Emma Lahana (Kira) was 20; James Napier (Connor) was 22; Kevin Duhany (Ethan) was 20;  Jeffrey Parazzo  (Trent)was 26; Jason David Frank was 31--a year younger than Cam. Jason, being the oldest, is 11 years older than Kevin and Emma, the youngest.

SPD: Brandon Jay McLaren (Jack) was 24; Chris Violette (Sky) was 24; Matt Austin (Bridge) was 27; Monica May (Z) was 21; Alycia P. (Syd) was 22; Michelle Langstone (Kat) was 26--a year younger than Matt Austin. Matt Austin has a six year difference--oldest and youngest.

Mystic Force: Firass Dirani (Nick) was 22; Angie Diaz (Vida) was 18; Richard Brancatisano (Xander) was 23; Melanie Vallejo (Madison) was 27; Nic Sampson (Chip) was 20; Antonia Prebble (Clare) was 22; Geoff Dolan (Leanbow) was 42. Of the main five, Angie was the youngest, having a 9 year difference with Melanie, who played her sister. Peta Rutter (Udonna) was 47, making her 25 years older than Firass and Geoff was 20 years older than Firass. Peta died in 2010 at age 51.

 

PROO: James Maclurcan (Mac) was 22; Caitlin Murphy (Ronnie) was 21; Samuell Benta (Will) was 21; Rhoda Montemayor (Rose) was 28; Gareth Yuen (Dax) was 29; Dwayne Cameron was 26 (Tyzonn) and Ria Vandervis (Miratrix) was 23. Rod Lousich (Andrew) was 40--18 years older than James.

Jason Smith (Casey) was 24; Anna Hutchison (Lilly) was 22; Aljin Abella (Theo) was 23; David de Lautour (Robert James) was 26; Bede Skinner (Jarrod) was 32;  Holly Shanahan (Camile) was 27; Nikolai Nikolaeff  (Dom)was 27---a month younger than Holly. Bede was the eldest, 6 years older than David. Anna being the youngest, was 4 years younger than David and 10 years younger than Bede. Jungle Fury.

RPM: Eka Darville (Scott) was 20; Ari Boyland (Flynn) was 22; Rose McIver (Summer) was 22; Dan Ewing (Dillon) was 24; Olivia Tennet (Dr. K) was 18; Adelaide Kane (Tenaya) was 19; Milo Cawthorne (Ziggy) was 20 and I don't know old the others were. Dan was the eldest and Olivia was the youngest, 6 year difference.

Samurai: Alex Heartman (Jayden) is 21; Erika Fong (Mia) is around 24 years of age; Hector David Jr. (Mike) is 22; Najee De-Tiege (Kevin) will be 26 in October; Brittany Anne Pirtle (Emily) will be 22 in December. Ricardo Medina (Deker) being born in 1977, he is now 34. Paul Schrier, born in 1970 is 41. Felix Ryan (Spike) is 21. I don't know how old Steven Skylar (Antonio) is but most likely he is between 21 and 26. The youngest is Felix and Paul is 20 years older. Ricardo is 13 years older than Alex. OMG, Paul could be Alex and Felix's dad! Not Najee's dad, because that would be 15 year difference, well, who knows. Alex was born in February of 1990 and Felix in July, making Felix 5 months younger.

Henshin0's feelings over PR streaming on Netflix

When I read the article about Netflix streaming this "tomorrow" (today by now), you couldn't believe my ecstasy. This is one time where being an insomniac is a good thing, because lying on your bed, you start to realize, "Wait, it's midnight.....POWER RANGERS ARE STREAMING ON NETFLIX NOW!" And I got a first look, and it rocked my world. First of all, the graphics of older footage has slightly improved (the way you think MMPR revisioned would have, before you actually saw it), and at the end of the episodes of all of the shows, even the Disney seasons, they use the new Saban logo, like the one they use at the end of "Samurai". Since I didn't sleep at night, I spent the whole night watching "Zeo", and thanks to the digital remastery, I noticed things I didn't notice before even when they aired it on Jetix.

First, in the zord garage, you can see the initials "U.A.O.H." from Zeo's Japanese counter-part, "Ohranger". Also, in the power chamber, where they have capsules containing the MMPR suits, Yellow ranger's suit (are you ready for this) has a skirt. What ironic timing to notice it, when gokaiger is airing in Japan. I also noticed a few less impressive things like the rangers wearing turtle-necks......a lot, and subtext about David Yost, but that's not important. Who knows what other things I will just start to notice in other old season, but whats really cool, is the fact that it's on netfix, means that via desktop, laptop, TV internet, and iPhone, I can literally spend the whole day watching non-stop Power Rangers. Although, there are a few things you should know. First, they're not streaming Mystic Knights, or Masked rider, and second, MMPR-R is considered S-19 on Netflix, not S-18, while "Samurai" is considered 18, but isn't on netflix at all, even though the cast list is on the site.

How the Sixth Rangers related to the other Power Rangers?

Here I compare how the Sixth Rangers got along with the main team and if they were accepted or not. It's much different to how the Sixth Rangers were accepted in Super Sentai.

Tommy and the Power Rangers
This is my opinion and with the first Sixth Rangers, the first season writers didn't want to much arc-related stuff, just and alone episodes so kids could pick up on what was going on, so having too much conflict would be confusing but once they realized the multi-parters made ratings go up, they made more. So yeah Tommy got along with the gang. And like said by Linkara, just because he lost his powers, it didn't mean he had to disappear from school. And where did he go? We know in Season 2 from between he lost his powers and he became the White Ranger, he was at his Uncle's. Green Ranger's powers were limited.

Jason and the Zeo Rangers
Trey and the Zeo Rangers
Since he already knew the gang, he instantly joined and they had no conflicts. Jason had to give his powers back to Trey, who was a mysterious helper.

Phantom Ranger and the Turbo Rangers
He never really gave his real name and the gang called him 'Phantom Ranger.' All they knew was that he came from Eltar. He was fairly friendly with them, even as much to help them when they are Space Rangers. Where in Sentai VRV Master is not considered a Ranger and seemingly not going to get a Ranger Key for Gokaiger, he was marketed as a Sixth Ranger and giving the 'Ranger' title in Power Rangers. His powers were limited because of the Power Ruby.

Zhane and the Space Rangers
They instantly accepted him as he was Andros' old friend. There was some time that they had to get know him. He got friendly with Ashley, which made Andros jealous. And Andros hearing that Zhane had a thing with Karone, his sister, wasn't exactly stellar. But other than that, he instantly joined with no problems. His powers were limited for a while.

Mike and the Galaxy Rangers
Even though confirmed as just an Extra Hero in Super Sentai, Mike was treated as a Sixth Ranger, even given a Morpher, Mike was instantly accepted. Strangely enough, in the two-parter, Damon barely knew him and was shouting out for him. He had to give up his power at the end.

Ryan and the Lightspeed Rangers
The Titanium Ranger was the first non-Sentai Ranger, he was evil for a brief time and then accepted, he then went on his own mission to find out how to stop the demons, probably because he had no footage, so lots of money to make new footage. Anyway, he was fully accepted to the team. With maybe only conflict with his dad, as he had a cobra that would kill him as he morphed and didn't tell his dad. He had limited powers because of the cobra curse.

Eric and the Time Force Rangers
Antagonistic towards Time Force, he wasn't an evil ranger but he didn't want to join the team. He was looking out for himself. Well, if the four Rangers joined the Silver guardians, he would've be okay with being their leader then. Even though Wes liked him, he didn't, not until the end where they became a duo. His powers weren't limited like past Rangers, it was more of a moral and dramatic choices that led to him not being in every single episode since his debut or be part of the team.
Antagonistically, didn't want to join: 1

Merrick and the Wild Force Rangers
He was part of the original team and was cursed to be Zenaku. When the current Rangers saved him, he became Lunar Wolf Rangers but felt bad about all he did so he didn't want to join the team. He later ended up wandering the Earth with Zenaku of all people. His powers weren't limited like past Rangers, it was more of a moral and dramatic choices that led to him not being in every single episode since his debut or be part of the team.

Thunder Rangers and Wind Rangers
Instead of having the Goraijer's backstory, they were duped into being 'evil,' and were told the Sensei killed their parents but it was Lothor. Once this was cleared up, they instantly joined the team and almost had zero conflict, save for one episode with Shane.

Cam and the Ninja Storm Rangers
Unlike Shurikenger who was a mysterious helper, Cam was already part of the team. His powers weren't limited like Rangers before Time Force. They did conflict with Cyber Cam.

Trent and the Dino Rangers
Even though there was just four Dino Rangers and Triassic is not counted as a sixth ranger but an upgrade, AbareKiller is consider a Sixth Ranger by Gokaiger. Trent was under evil control and was evil against the Rangers, then cured and instantly joined the team, but that didn't mean there still wasn't conflicts. He kept secrets from them. And then there was the evil clone, made to excuse the footage of AbareKiller still being antagonistic against them.

Sam and SPD
When Sam came in as Omega Ranger, he came with an attitude that future stuff was better. Fans found him annoying.

Daggeron and Mystic Rangers
Xanderis a bit jealous and upset at Daggeron but later turns around. Nick butts heads with Daggeron occasionally (even to the point that Snow Prince downgraded Daggeron and had him follow Nick.

Tyzonn and the OO Rangers
Mac instantly likes Tyzonn. Tyzonn doesn't want to join the team because of guilt of loosing friends in a team before. But once he gets the powers, he does join the team and with zero conflict, the only conflict he had with Will was that he followed him around, copying him.
Joined team eventually: 5

RJ and the Jungle Fury Rangers
They all knew RJ before as he was the teacher but he did butt heads with Casey when he became a Ranger because Casey felt like he was stepping into the leader role.
Joined team instantly but some head butts: 3

Dominick and the Jungle Fury Rangers
He wanted to be accepted but wasn't for his laziness and arrogance, it took Casey to kind of accept him.

Spirit Rangers and Jungle Fury Rangers
Evil, but eventually joined, sort of: 5

Ziggy and Dillon and RPM Rangers
Unlike Go-Onger, there was mass amounts of conflict with Ziggy and Dillon and the others. Dillon conflicted with everyone. Nobody wanted Ziggy. But we all know how that turned out.

Twins and RPM Rangers
Instantly joined, the main 5 didn't get them but they were part of the team.

Antonio and Samurai Rangers
He wanted to join but wasn't accept by the Samurai Rangers. He was quickly accepted by three of them but not much by Kevin and Jii. Jayden and Jii later accepted him but it took an episode for Kevin to accept him.

Sixth Ranger different belt buckles

Some Sixth Rangers had variations on the same buckle as the main five or four.

The only main difference Dragon Ranger/Green Ranger's buckle had than the others was that it was gold. Even though Kibaranger had the same belt buckle as the Dairanger, in MMPR, he was the only one used from Dairanger, so his belt buckle was much different than the original Rangers.

The Ohranger/Zeo symbol had five symbols, with the star in the middle, while the King/Gold Ranger's buckle only had his symbol on it.

MegaSilver/Silver Ranger and the Titanium Ranger had the same symbols and belt buckles as the others.


The Timeranger belt buckle was a triangle with the symbol to the left but the Time Fire/Quantum Ranger belt buckle was much different.

Gaoranger/Wild Force symbol had all five animals, the Silver one looked like but only had the wolf.


Shurikenger/Green Samurai Ranger (PRNS) was different, it was a shuriken symbol obviously.


Even though not exactly a sixth Ranger, AbareMax/Triassic Ranger changed the common symbol to something that resembled its dinosaur.

DekaMaster/Shadow Ranger, DekaBreak/Omega Ranger, MagiShine/Solaris Knight and Bouken Silver/Mercury Ranger had the same symbols as the others.


GekiChopper/Rhino Ranger's symbol had an extra check mark on it than the others. In Gekiranger, it was called the SCRTC Meisters logo.


Go-Onger symbol had wings added to them for the Go-On Wings.

Shinken Gold/Gold Ranger's symbol and belt buckle are the same.
