Special bulletin board posters reinforcing safe trick-or-treating guidelines will be distributed to 5,000+ elementary schools across the country. Also, online, kids can visit powerrangers.com/Halloween for more Halloween Halloween safety tips, videos, activities, games and resources throughout the month of October. Christmas, Halloween and RPM Teamup announced!

Marvista Entertainment and Saban Brands will debut three new Power Rangers Samurai TV specials (2x30, 1x60), based on the new TV series of the same name. Featuring the Samurai Rangers, the new specials include:

Christmas Together, Friends Forever - the Rangers reflect on their first year together as a team and learn about the spirit of the season.

Party Monsters - a scare-fest when the creepiest monsters from beyond get together for party and trade stories about their battles with the Rangers.

The Clash of the Red Rangers - a crossover special where the Samurai Rangers team with the mysterious RPM Rangers Red fend off the dual threat from Master Xandred's Mooger army and robotic super-villain from the RPM Ranger's dimension. When something goes awry, the two Red Rangers turn on one another and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

“The new Power Rangers Samurai specials are a perfect fit for the international markets ongoing demand for event-driven programming which offers broadcasters additional opportunities to cross promote,” said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment. “The new season of Power Rangers continues to generate stellar ratings as it launches around the world, and we are pleased to be in a position to continue to build upon the brand by offering dynamic and fresh new content to our partners.”

The date to air these are not announced yet, most likely we will be seeing these Halloween and Christmas specials this year. It is great news that the RPM Rangers are from another dimension, explaining the whole post-apocalyptic thing. So this explains suspensions that they were filming a RPM teamup, and why Mike's actor Hector was communicating via Twitter to the actress who played Tenaya.

Is Saban contracted to adapt all consecutive Super Sentai series into Power Rangers?

UPDATED 9/24/11 1AM EST
Here is a question that is asked a lot but I don't think it has been highly investigated. The question I am referring to is the fact that so far (as of 2011) Power Rangers has been adapted from every consecutive Super Sentai series since 1992. No series after Zyuranger (1992) has been skipped for footage. They may have skipped suits like Dairanger but they used the footage for zords, some arsenal, and monsters so I still consider it using a consecutive Sentai series, same goes for Season 3 and Kakuranger. They didn't skip a consecutive season because if they did, we wouldn't had Thunderzords or Ninja Zords. Adapting for me is using any amount and size of footage. In the credits for Season 2, they mention Dai Rangers and end of season 3 they mention Kakuranger, very little Zyuranger footage was ever really used by season 3. So the question is if Saban (and Disney when they owned the franchise) contractually obligated to do the Super Sentai series in order and not skip one? Linkara has brought this up in History of Power Rangers, he felt like Carranger could be skipped. Many people have wished many a Super Sentai series would be skipped, many even thought Shinkenger was 'unadaptable' and now we have Kanji at McDonalds. Linkara also brought up the topic of the possibility of using a Super Sentai series prior to Zyuranger. Many fans had brought up in the past that a past Sentai could be adapted. I agree that could have. I would had welcomed to skip a series as well.

So far it is an unspoken rule to not skip one. I think it goes higher than Saban or Disney, I think Bandai is also in the works. Many people think Toei doesn't play into a lot of Power Rangers but I think Toei is more in control. Because Toei recently approved that Power Rangers Mystic Force to be an online game for South Korea. Also Toei lets Sentai be labeled as Power Rangers in Korea and Thailand, so maybe Toei has more sway. Also at the end of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie, (which I've seen so many times lately because of my nephew) it says A Saban Entertainment/Toei Company production. Anyway, there is no official statement that we know of that a Sentai series can't be skipped for Power Rangers. But I, myself, with no confirmation believe that they can't skip a Sentai series. Maybe there is a contract and maybe not, but since no series has been skipped, makes me think there is a contract or an unspoken agreement. Also fiscally it is bad financial move, here are cons and pros. The reason there is more cons and than pros is that some cons are to adapt or not adapt.

Pros to adapting consecutively

Cons to adapting or not adapting consecutively
1. Before 2009 when there was just a one year gap, the props and costumes could be shipped easily and didn't have rely on making new stuff. And they didn't have create a lot of new stuff. They have made new stuff before but it took time.

1. Before 2009 when there was just a year gap, if they skipped the next Sentai, they would have to make their own series and would cost a lot more and maybe earn as much as when adapted and not bring in profit. [Not Adapting]

2. Before 2009: Toy-wise adapt the next series was easier as Bandai already knew what they were using from Bandai Japan.

2. Before 2009: If didn't adapt the next series, there was very little time between one season and another to design new stuff, even though Plex does it for Toei every year. [Not Adapting]
3. It is good business to adapt a consecutive series, why waste a new series of footage?

3. Con to adapting the consecutive season is not making sense or having a contrived season like Carranger/Turbo or any season fans have beef with. Carranger might have fared better if not connected to previous seasons.

4. Post 2011: It is good to have 2 years or 3 years gap to get ready for stuff and knowing the whole series before adapting. For example, Saban's crew knew what to expect with Shinkenger.

4. Stuck to a series that may not had been good. [Con to adapting]

5. In Gokaiger's sense, adapting it has problem with old sentai and also locating past PR alums. But con to not adapting is fans looking forward to old alums coming.

6. Adapting something they don't know the end of, like with Abaranger and not knowing AbareMax was not a sixth and just a powerup. [Con to adapting]

New Saban Brands News: Ninja Turtles Next Mutation picked up

As some may already know, after Saban got the rights of Power Rangers, he acquired Beetleborgs and VR Troopers for Netflix. And as some may also know, he recently acquired Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, the only live-action the Ninja Turtles had and they guest starred in two episodes of Power Rangers in Space.

Power Rangers Samurai Second Season statement making more sense

There was 16 episodes that aired from Feb 7 to June 4th, 'Boxed in' being the last. Nickelodeon now announced 5 weeks of new episodes, which includes 'Broken Dreams' and 'The Ultimate Deal' and probably 'Origins' (two parter). The fifth one we don't know the title. Oct 29th the fifth episode will most likely air. I am not using RPM as an example as the last episodes aired in December but Jungle Fury's last episodes aired November 3rd and Lightspeed to Operation final episodes aired in November, meaning that these five episodes will probably be the last new episodes we will see this year. They might sneak one episode in November but most likely that will complete 21 (or 22) episodes for this year or 'season.'

So like we feared, each season will be less than 40, we once thought it was 20 and 20 but it seems it will be 21. And the rest in 2012, the 'second season' of Power Rangers, which would be a rather short season. And we heard from the stunt group that they stopped shooting for Samurai, probably meaning they shot the two seasons already (On Twitter, Hector David and the others are back in New Zealand as of Sep 18 filming). Hector David and the cast said it wasn't the end, probably meaning we wouldn't see the rest of the series until the end of 2012. This 'two season' thing is probably being done in order to establish the foreign markets and Power Rangers merchandise (which we still haven't seen in abundance here in the United States). When 2 seasons and 40 episodes was announced, I figured it would be this way, noting how Nickelodeon handle "iCarly" and their other shows and 'seasons.' But the confusion was over the cast saying 'second season' and that most seasons last one year and the casting is occurring now for new Rangers.

Most likely they will cast the new cast by the end of this year and start shooting in 2012 and probably air the new team season in 2013 using Goseiger and hopefully not be 20 episodes per year. 2013 is the 20th anniversary and we are hoping Gokaiger get adapted but if it would get adapted, most likely it would be in 2014 and not 2013. The 'two seasons' of Samurai and a new team in 2013, would lead fans to believe that Gokaiger will be skipped and the 2012 Sentai (yet to announced) being used for 2014. Now these are just speculations and not anything officially. I find this confusing because how can you have two seasons of 21 or 20 episodes and then in 2013 have a season of 40 episodes? Or will it be just be done like this every two year? I understand the need to establish something and get people used to it but this is ridiculous.  And they are taking forever with the merchandise, Disney didn't take this long with Ninja Storm. I guess the 2010 year off really screwed up negotiations because Mega Bloks and all those other products and the live tour is set to come out in 2012. And the Samurai toys---most PR toys came out in November and the Samurai toys snuck in a new or two before Christmas, not enough time for kids to put it on their lists. As for the Samurai cast, if they did indeed stop shooting, I am sure they will be plenty of public appearances, promos for Nick and maybe a movie this year.

Power Rangers Samurai in Terebikun Magazine

For those who don't know, most Power Rangers (once a year only) get one page or two in Terebikun and with spoilers---this is how we found out about Thrax in Once A Ranger, the Spirit Rangers in Jungle Fury, the Mystic Force Battlizer and much more. Anyway, here there is no spoilers (much like RPM), just the mega modes and the morphers.

Old Sentai Fan-chosen names through Polls for Gokaiger as Power Rangers

There are some debates on if the Super Sentai that were not Power Rangers be adapted into Power Rangers if the Gokaiger footage is used. I say 'if' because of these 16 teams that were not Power Rangers, fans think it might not be adapted. But as I have said before, these suits have been used sparingly and not prominently. I say if they were used prominently, then it would had been an issue. But most of the time, when the Gokaiger transform into them as a whole team, it is briefly and the footage can be skipped. Power Rangers often use very little of the footage. And as of Episode 30, only two of these teams have been given an episode, which can be skipped. Anyway, these names were voted on by you guys earlier this year. Gorangers got 88 votes to be Go Rangers transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger and The Original Rangers got 81 votes.

Card Rangers got 136 votes for JAKQ if they are adapted into Power Rangers via Gokaiger. The Gokaiger have transformed into the whole team in 2 episodes so far, they might be used.

Global Rangers got 132 votes for Battle Fever J if they adapted into Power Rangers via Gokaiger.

Dynamo Rangers got 116 votes for Denjiman if they adapted into Power Rangers via Gokaiger. The Gokaiger have become them a couple of times, they might be used.

Solar Rangers got 140 votes for Sun Vulcan if they get adapted.

Gem Rangers got 195 votes for Google V. The Gokaiger became the whole team once briefly but can be skipped.

Dynamic Rangers got 210 votes for Dynaman. The Gokaiger became the whole team once briefly but can be skipped.

Digital Rangers got 122 votes for Bioman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger.

Prism Rangers got 133 votes for Flashman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger. Flashman, Changeman and Maskman are rumored to be influenced into the GokaiGalleon Buster, maybe we won't see them and they can skip the footage, it depends on the footage.

Mythical Rangers got 138 votes for Changeman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger. We might have a zero chance to see Changeman in Power Rangers because as of Episode 30, they yet have to transform into any of them and when they do transform into them, it might be skipped.

Aura Rangers got 148 votes for Maskman to be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger.

Beast Rangers got 118 votes for Liveman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger. Yellow Lion of Liveman appears in Episode 30 of Gokaiger, so they might get adapted into Power Rangers. Let's see if it happens and if they call them something specific. Beast Rangers sounds good. Live Rangers make no sense.
Auto Rangers got 86 votes for Turboranger be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger. They have become the whole team twice but briefly, could be skipped.

Vector Rangers got 109 votes for Fiveman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger.

Jet Rangers got 125 votes for Jetman be called if transferred to Power Rangers via Gokaiger. Black Condor appears in Episode 28 of Gokaiger, they could use the footage, Jet Rangers sounds good. Maybe they will go with Avian Rangers. The Gokaiger have become Jetman before and briefly.

Thunder Rangers got 115 votes for Dairanger for Power Rangers via Gokaiger. Ryuuranger will appear in a later Gokaiger episode, maybe they will use the footage.

Age Differences between Casts

Requested by fan Frederick, in this post I will note the age differences between the Power Rangers in each cast. Most actors are between the ages of 18 and 28, some have been in their thirties. And the original cast are entering their forties.

When MMPR was shot in 1993, Amy Jo Johnson (Kim) was 22; Austin St. John (Jason) was 17; Thuy Trang (Trini) was 19; Walter Jones (Zack) was 22; and David Yost (Billy) was the eldest at 24. When Jason David Frank (Tommy) joined the cast, he was 20. David Yost had a 7 year difference from Austin St. John, the youngest. Paul Schrier was 23, he is a year younger than David. Jason Narvy was 19, 2 years older than Austin.

In season 2 when Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam) joined the cast, he was 18; Steve Cardenas (Rocky) was 20; and Karan Ashley (Aisha) was 19. David (25) and Johnny had a six year age difference. Amy Jo was 24; David was 25 and Jason was 21. By Season 3, Jason was 22; David was 26; Steve was 21; Johnny was 19 and Karan was 20 and Catherine Sutherland (Kat) was 21 when she joined the cast. Steve is 5 months older than Catherine.

Aquitar (Alien) Rangers: Karim Prince (Cestro) was born in 1974 and was 21 in 1995. Alan Palmer (Corcus) looks to be in his 40's now, so I suppose he was in his late 20's during this time. Same goes for David Bacon (Aurico). I am not sure about Rajia Baroudi (Delphine) or Tideus' actor Jim Gray.

By Zeo, Jason was 22, David was 27, Steve was 22, Johnny was 20, Catherine was 21 and Nakia Burrise (Tanya) was 21. David Yost has a six year difference with Nakia. When Austin St. John (Jason) was added, he was 21. Catherine is 11 months older than Austin. I don't know how old the triplets that played Trey are.

Blake Foster (Justin) was 11, he was born in 1985 and he is now 26. Jason was 22 and later 23, Jason is about 12 years older than Blake. Johnny is 9 years older and Catherine and Nakia are about 11 years older. Hilary Shepard Turner (Divatox) was born in 1961, at the time she was 35, she was 12 years older than Jason David Frank and 24 years older than Blake. Carol Hoyt (Dimitria/Divatox) was 34 at the time. As for the new cast, Patricia Ja Lee (Cassie) was 22; Selwyn Ward (TJ) was 20; Roger Velasco (Carlos) was 20; and Tracy Lynn Cruz (Ashley) was 21. The eldest was Patricia and she is around 10 years older than Blake.

For Space, Christopher Lee (Andros) was 20, Patricia was 23, Selwyn was 21, Roger was 21 and Tracy was 22, Justin Nimmo (Justin) was 24 and Melody Perkins (Astronema) was 24. Justin Nimmo is 4 years older than Christopher. Melody is 8 months older than Justin Nimmo. Jason David Frank is 5 years older than Christopher Lee. Selwyn was a year older than Christopher. Paul Schrier was 28 and Jason Narvy was 24, 2 months younger than Melody.

In Lost Galaxy, Archie Kao (Kai) was 29, he is 10 months younger than David Yost. Reggie Rolle (Damon) was 23; Danny Salvin was 26; Cerina Vincent (Maya) was 20; Russell Lawrence (Mike) was 21; Varlie Vernon (Kendrix) was 23; Melody Perkins (Karone) was 25. Archie was the oldest and Cerine was the youngest. Danny is 6 years older Christopher Lee. Amy Miller (Trakeena), who married Reggie Rolle and I can't find her age.

In Lightspeed Rescue, Sean Cw Johnson (Carter) was 22; Michael Chaturantabut was 25; Alison Macinnis (Dana) was 20; Keith Robinson (Joel) was 24; Sasha Craig (Kelsey) was 18, Monica Louwerens (Angela) was 26; Ron Rogge (Captain Mitchell)  was 32--a year older than David Yost. Ron was only 12 years older than Dana and Rhett. Rhett Fisher (Ryan) was 20, 2 months younger than Alison.

Jason Faunt (Wes) was 27--five years older than Sean Johnson; Michael Copon (Lucas) was 19; Erin Cahill (Jen) was 21; Deborah Phillips (Katie) was 23; Kevin Kleinberg (Trip) was 18; Dan Southworth (Eric) was 27; Dan is 2 months older than Jason. Edward Albert played Mr. Collins and was 50 at the time, making him 23 years older than Jason Faunt. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 55 due to Lung Cancer. Vernon Wells (Ransik) was around 55 and I don't know how old Kate Sheldon (Nadira) is. So, Kevin was the youngest of the Rangers and Dan was the eldest, with a 9 year difference, more than David Yost and Austin St. John's age differences.

I don't know how old Steven Skylar (Antonio) is but most likely he is between 21 and 26. The youngest is Felix and Paul is 20 years older. Ricardo is 13 years older than Alex. OMG, Paul could be Alex and Felix's dad! Not Najee's dad, because that would be 15 year difference, well, who knows. Alex was born in February of 1990 and Felix in July, making Felix 5 months younger.

Just Ideas: Possible Power Rangers Theme Park Attractions?

Here is my own renditions and ideas. This by no means for sure will happen or are official. Nor have I heard any rumors or truth about any real ideas. Feel free to add comments on your ideas. I have a poll going on right now and when the results come out, I will either reiterate these ideas or link to this post. These are also the options from the poll.

Rollercoaster

Got the idea from the Hulk rollercoaster. I'm not a big fan of rollercoasters, but I can imagine that the cars can be in different colors as the rangers and be like a rainbow coaster. And maybe have a select villain.

Enclosed 'Dark' Ride

A ride like the ones at Disney (Small World, Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, etc.) or the Spider-man ride at Universal Islands of Adventure. The ride can be 3-D like Spider-man or be like the ones I mentioned before with animatronics that barely move. They can tell a story. It could be of any select Power Ranger team, I vote for Mighty Morphin. since it is the best known. Most rides go from room to room, the first room could have Rita escaping the dumpster, second have Zordon telling Alpha to get five teenagers and we see the morphed Rangers appear, the third can have the Rangers fighting a monster or Goldar and fourth Megazord battle and fifth could have Zedd and Green Ranger and so on.

Indoor Stageshow

The Stage show Saban had in 1995 could be replicated or made better inside a housing stadium like Disney has for their stage shows, which are virtually all gone but the ones I grew up with where Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid in MGM Studios. I like air conditioning. And having it indoors, it can have special effects or 3-D. And this show can have different Rangers from different teams and being in-suit, they can have different voice actors. They can take the plot of Super Legends where Zedd returned.

Outdoor Stageshow

Disney Hollywood Studios only had the Rangers in a parade and meet and greet, but back when it was MGM Studios, there was Ninja Turtles and they had a outdoor stageshow and then they did a meet and greet. As we said before, Sentai has plenty of stageshows and most of them are outdoors and they do pyrotechnics. Outdoors could also have a slight arena roof.

In a Parade

The only thing Disney had them do was participate in the Car parade in Hollywood Studios. I have covered this many times before as they had one member from a different team and would rotate members, having a member of a new team replace one from four years before, for example Mystic Pink replaced Pink Time Force Ranger.

Meet and Greet

After the parade and at different times in Disney World Hollywood Studios in Orlando, the suited Power Rangers would sign autographs. To start out again, Saban will probably have all 5 Samurai Rangers and then slowly add a new member from a new team replacing another. I do wish they would have like Samurai Red, MMPR Pink, RPM Black, Jungle Fury Yellow and Operation Overdrive Blue.

Martial Art Demo

What I was thinking of was in-suit but an outdoor thingy where they train kids with simple marital art things and have an actual Martial Arts person be the host and explain.

Game-like Ride

In Disney World Magic Kingdom there is this Buzz Lightyear ride where you go in cars and have to zap targets. So maybe each looks like a zord and you have targets from different series, like one room has putties and Lord Zedd is in command at a park or cave and another has Cylcobots and Ransik is the boss inside a cityscape and another has Grinders and Venjix (a giant tube) in his headquarters, etc.

Museum of History

Ah, I want this so much. I imagine a big space with several rooms, it doesn't have to be as big as an actual musuem but it would be awesome to see suits in cases. They wouldn't have to have all the suits of each rangers but at least a few from each team. Or maybe all the helmets. I mean, there are some fans that have one helmet from each team. Not only suits and helmets of the team but like with Sentai that has Megazords, villains, and vehicles.
